Biao He, Ph.D.
Assistant Adjunct  Professor of Surgery
Biao He is a molecular geneticist in the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory. Dr. He was recruited   for his  knowledge of Wnt signaling and RNA interference (RNAi). His current research includes exploration of the molecular mechanisms of non-small cell lung cancer and malignant mesothelioma and  development of novel targeted small molecule and monoclonal antibody therapies.
Minh To, Ph.D.
Minh To, Ph.D.

Assistant Adjunct  Professor of Surgery

Minh To is a molecular geneticist/biologist and a member of the UCSF Thoracic Oncology Program and Lab. His current research utilizes mouse models to study the mechanism of lung cancer susceptibility and biology, and to identify of novel targets for therapeutic intervention. Dr. To is also heavily involved in a collaborative study with Drs. Allan Balmain and David Jablons that uses a "systems genetics" approach for large scale molecular analysis of human lung cancers in relation to clinical outcomes.

Zhidong Xu, Ph.D.
Assistant Adjunct  Professor of Surgery

Zhidong Xu, Ph.D. is a molecular biologist and senior scientist in the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory. In 1998, Dr. Xu was recruited by David M. Jablons, MD to the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory. In 2001, he joined the faculty at the UCSF School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery.

Liang You, MD, Ph.D.
Liang You, M.D., Ph.D

Assistant Adjunct  Professor of Surgery

Liang  You came to the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory after  several years at the National Cancer Institute.  Dr. You has helped identify several novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets in lung cancer and mesothelioma. He is currently investigating recombinant human WIF-1 protein as a cancer therapy and seeking out new therapeutic targets and novel interventions.
